Mike Morrison, who joined the Sacred Heart University Department of Athletics in September of 2017, serves as Senior Deputy Athletics Director. Morrison added the "senior" part of his title with a promotion in January of 2024. He serves as the department's liaison for advancement, communications, marketing and sponsorships as well as overseeing the game operations area.

Morrison also serves as the program administrator for the football, women’s soccer, men's wrestling and men's lacrosse teams.

Morrison, who also had the title, Senior Associate Athletic Director/Director of Athletic Advancement, created and implemented a comprehensive fundraising program to enhance the experience of Pioneer student-athletes while benefiting the athletics annual fund.  Since he joined the university in 2017, Morrison has helped athletics raise $8 million to address department needs. He played an important role in the SHUand42 virtual event that raised more than $350,000 for diversity scholarships. Morrison has served on the department's inaugural Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee as well as the advancement and athletic department's senior management team.

Morrison earned both his Bachelor’s (Political Science ’00) and Master’s (Education ’02) degrees from the University of Connecticut. Prior to joining SHU, Morrison had stops at UConn (2006-17), Rhode Island College (2004-06), University of New Mexico (2003-04), Boston College (2002-03) and as a graduate assistant at his alma mater (2000-02).

Accomplishments Prior to SHU:

• Served as the Senior Director of Development for UConn Athletics from 2014-17, leading a group that raised $37 million in a three-year span.  During his tenure at UConn he was part of team that raised more than $100 million for athletics.

• Helped direct the campaign to fund UConn’s new baseball, soccer and softball stadiums; helping to secure commitments for $15 million

• Created and implemented a strategic plan for a comprehensive donor program

• Served as Assistant AD for Development at Rhode Island College, serving on the Senior Athletic Management Team; managing the athletic corporate development program

• Served as the Lobo Club Assistant Director at New Mexico, assisting in an annual fund team that raised $2.1 million annually
