One of the most decorated players in Saint Rose women's soccer history, Morgan (Burchhardt) Farnan was appointed as an assistant on the Golden Knight' coaching staff following the conclusion of her illustrious playing career. As a Golden Knight, Morgan was three-year team captain, a four-time Northeast-10 Conference All-League pick, and a three-time Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) All-East honoree.
AS A SENIOR (2019): United Soccer Coaches third-team All-America pick…United Soccer Coaches first-team All-East…NE10 first-team All-Conference pick…NE10 Championship All-Tournament Team…Also named to the NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team…D2CCA second-team All-East pick…Named to the NE10 weekly honor roll (10/21/19)…Selected as the inaugural Capital District Sports Woman of the Year Grand Collegiate Woman of the Year…Finished her career fourth all-time in program annals with 114 points, tied for 11th with 31 goals, and second behind 52 assists…Fifth all-time with 91 matches started…One of only eight players in school history to record 100 career points…Was one of a mere 14 active players in the country with 30 goals and 20 assists as a senior…Was the active NCAA Division II leader in assists…Only player in school annals to record 10 or more assists in four separate seasons…Seventh in the country and second in the NE10 (to teammate Nina Predanic) with 14 assists on the year, the fourth highest single-season mark in school annals……Eighth in the NE10 with 20 points…Recorded at least a point in 18 of 25 matches…Scored the game-winner in the 2-1 National Quarterfinal win versus Bloomsburg (12/10/19)…Set up two goals, including the game-winner with 10 seconds remaining, to propel Saint Rose to a 3-2 victory against visiting Southern Connecticut State in the NE10 Championship Final (11/17/19)…Selected to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll for the fall and spring semesters.
AS A SENIOR (2018): One of only two field players, along with senior back Nia Brown, to start all 22 matches…Named a D2CCA first-team All-East selection…Garnered United Soccer Coaches second-team All-East honors and was tabbed an NE10 second-team All-Conference pick…Garnered NE10 Academic All-Conference accolades for outstanding athletic and academic achievement…Named the recipient of the Michael Simpson Striker Award, which is bestowed upon a Golden Knights men’s or women’s soccer player who is active in community service as determined by the Saint Rose athletics department coaching staff…Named to the NE10 weekly honor roll (9/24/18) after scoring two goals and assisting on the other two in a 4-3 come-from-behind win at Assumption (9/18/18)…Finished 21st in the country with 0.55 assists per game…Wound up 10th nationally behind a league leading 12 assists…Was fifth in the conference with 26 points…Tallied seven goals, 12th most in the NE10…Also registered what proved to be the game-winner in a 3-0 triumph at Upstate Challenge foe Le Moyne (9/26/18)…Also had a goal and two assists in a 6-5, NE10 semifinal overtime setback at #8 Franklin Pierce (11/2/18)…Chosen to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll for both the fall and spring semesters…Served as Secretary for the Saint Rose Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
AS A JUNIOR (2017): Missed the entire season other than the season-opener versus Wilmington (8/31/17)…Represented women's soccer on the SAAC…Named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll for the fall and spring semesters.
AS A JUNIOR (2016): Named a preseason All-American by HERO Sports…Started three of the four contests she played in before an injury curtailed her campaign...Named the NE10 Player of the Week (9/11/16)...Totaled four goals and three assists for 11 points...Scored three goals in a 5-0 victory versus Holy Family (9/3/16)...Named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll for the fall and spring semesters…Represented women's soccer on the SAAC.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2015): Started all 22 games…United Soccer Coaches first-team All-East…Named D2CCA second-team All-East…Chosen first-team NE10 All-Conference…Named the NE10 Player of the Week (11/1/15)…Finished second in the conference with a team-best 30 points...Assisted on 12 goals, fifth most in the country...Named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll for the spring semester.
AS A FRESHMAN (2014): Made an immediate impact…Appeared in and started 24 of the team’s 25 contests…Named a Daktronics second-team All-East pick…Garnered third-team All-League accolades from the NE10…Also named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team…Twice selected as the NE10 Rookie of the Week (10/6/14 and 11/3/14)…Named to the NE10 weekly honor roll (9/8/14) after registering a pair of goals throughout her first two collegiate contests…Finished 14th in the country with a league-leading 11 assists…Wound up seventh in the NE10 with eight goals, including four game-winners…Finished fifth among the league leaders behind 27 points…Accounted for both strikes in a 2-0 victory versus conference rival Bentley (11/1/14)…Set up a pair of goals during a 5-1 NE10 win at New Haven (10/29/14)…Finished with a goal and an assist in a 6-0 triumph at Holy Family (9/7/14)…Pulled off the feat again during a 4-1 victory at conference rival Pace (9/30/14)…Set up the game-winner to help lead the Golden Knights to a 2-0 NCAA National Championship Quarterfinal win at West Chester (11/23/14)…Named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester.
HIGH SCHOOL: Decorated player for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake…Three-time New York State class “A” Player of the Year…Named the 2012 Albany Times Union Player of the Year…Named The Saratogian Player of the Year in both 2012 and 2013…Twice garnered class “A” All-State accolades…Also named a Regional All-American…Broke all three major scoring career records at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake with 191 points behind 59 goals and 73 assists…Was the squad’s assists leader each of her four years…Recorded a New York State section II record of 30 assists in a season…Led the Spartans to four section II class “A” championships, three class “A” regional titles, and three class “A” state semifinal appearances…Team captain as a senior…Was also member of both the indoor and outdoor track & field teams.
