Patrick Grey finished his first season as an assistant coach with the Rams.

In 2023, Grey was part of a coaching staff led the Rams to a 7-5-6 record, and the highest winning percentage in program history with a mark of 0.555. This fall was also the programs first winning season since 2005 - just narrowly missing out on the playoffs for the second year running and recorded the team’s best finish in the PSAC since moving from the MEC in 2019. The Rams also achieved their first regional ranking in program history.

An Auckland, New Zealand native, Grey grew up learning his soccer with the Wynrs Academy. During which time, he participated in an array of international level club tournaments including events held in Manchester, England, Bremen, Germany, and Seoul, South Korea.

Grey went on to graduate from Caldwell University in 2018 with a bachelors degree in accounting and a minor in history. While at Caldwell, Patrick was a member of the men's soccer team, captaining the side for his final two seasons with the squad.

Prior to Shepherd, Grey has coached predominantly with the Wellington Phoenix Soccer School, and most recently the Auckland United Academy setup, instructing age group boys & girls teams at the top level of domestic competition.

Grey  has received is NZF C license, with intentions to continue his coaching education in the US setup.

He is pursuing an M.B.A degree at Shepherd with an expected completion date of May 2025.
