Phil Hiatt joined Campbell in May 2023 and serves as the primary contact for baseball, women’s soccer, and wrestling.  

Before Campbell, Hiatt was a strategic communications assistant at the University of South Alabama from July 2022 to May 2023.  

During his time at South Alabama, Hiatt was the primary contact for the men’s basketball team and the track & field teams. He also assisted in the gameday operations with football, women’s basketball, and baseball.  

In his role at South Alabama, Hiatt created game notes, media guides, social media graphics and other media materials for assigned sports. He was also responsible for keeping the in-game statistics for multiple sports in addition to writing recaps and feature stories that appeared on usajaguars.com.  

Previously, Hiatt worked in the athletic communications department at James Madison University from January 2021 to May 2022. During his time with the Dukes, he served as the contact for the men’s and women’s tennis teams while also assisting with football, lacrosse, softball, baseball, and men’s and women’s basketball.  

Hiatt graduated from Brigham Young University in 2019 with a B.A. in communications with an emphasis in news media. During his time at BYU, he worked as a reporter and producer for the student newsroom, producing a weekly 30-minute sports show reviewing BYU sports. 

After his time at BYU, Hiatt received his master’s degree in sport and recreation leadership from James Madison University in 2022.  

A native of Woodlawn, Va., Phil and his wife, Emily, reside in Fayetteville with their son, Alex.
