Ray Kim joined the Virginia Commonwealth University Sports, Medicine staff in August 2016. His primary duties are to provide day-to-day care and prevention of athletic related injuries for the student-athletes on the VCU women’s soccer and women’s tennis programs.Prior to his arrival to VCU, Ray worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at James Madison University working for the women’s softball and women’s volleyball programs. While at JMU, Ray also completed his Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Physical Activity from 2014-2016.

Ray finished his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training at California State University, Long Beach from 2006-2011. After completing his B.S. and obtaining his Athletic Training degree at CSULB and obtaining his Athletic Training Certification, Ray worked as the Head Athletic Trainer at Robert A. Millikan High School in Long Beach, California from 2012-2014. 

In addition to working a variety of collegiate and high school athletics Ray has previously volunteered as a first-responder and Athletic Trainer for the Long Beach State men’s club rugby team and with USA women’s rugby team.
