Sammy Thompson is in her 11th year as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer team in 2022-23. 

Thompson graduated Cabrini College in 2012 as one of the most decorated women’s soccer players in the program's history. She was a four year All-CSAC center midfielder and was selected to the NSCAA All-Region Team in 2011.  Thompson finished her career #6 on the school's all-time scoring list.

She led the Cavaliers to over 50 wins during her career, including two conference championships and two NCAA tournament appearances. She was also a two-year captain and was awarded Most Outstanding Senior Athlete.  

A stand-out dual sport student-athlete, Sammy was also the starting shortstop on Cabrini's softball team for four years.  Thompson established herself as one of the top hitters in program history, posting a career batting average of .317 with 158 hits, including 31 doubles and 12 triples.  A three-time All-CSAC honoree, Thompson started 149 of 150 career games, posing 29 steals in 34 attempts.

Thompson was named to the CSAC All-Academic Team seven times during her career, as well as being named to the Philadelphia Inquirer All-Area Academic Team in 2011.

She has been a soccer trainer with Coerver Coaching since 2011, which is one of the most well-known coaching organizations in the world and focuses on individual skill development and small group play.

Thompson graduated from Cabrini in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science & Health Promotion.

The Interboro High School grad lives in King of Prussia with her pet pig Ellie.
