University of Wyoming soccer head coach Colleen Corbin announced an addition to her coaching staff Friday. Sydney Drinkwater joins the Cowgirls as the new assistant coach who will primarily work with goalkeepers.

“We are ecstatic to be welcoming Sydney to the Wyoming soccer family,” Corbin said. “She brings a wealth of knowledge from competing at both the Division I and professional levels, and I’m excited for her to pour into all of our players, especially our goalkeeper group. She is a passionate, eager and motivated coach, and we are so delighted for her to be a Cowgirl.”

Drinkwater was most recently a professional soccer player in France. Her collegiate coaching background includes stops at Louisiana Tech, Eastern Florida State and Arkansas at Little Rock. She was also an instructor for Team Boca Soccer Club.

“I’m excited to continue my coaching career at the University of Wyoming,” Drinkwater said. “I want to thank coach Corbin for the opportunity. I share the goal of winning and winning often with the rest of the coaching staff. I’m looking forward to lifting the Mountain West Conference trophy in the fall.”

Drinkwater hails from Merritt Island, Florida. She joins the Cowgirls ahead of their spring practice and game schedule.
