Taylor enters her third season with the Cowgirls’ soccer program, and it's her first year as an assistant coach, as she was the assistant director of player development her first two seasons. She helped guide Wyoming to a Mountain West Conference regular-season title during Year 2, ending with an 8-6-6 overall record, which included a 6-3-2 league mark. In Year 1 with Burton, the Cowgirls went 8-10-1, matching the best start in school history under a new head coach, Colleen Corbin.

Burton arrived in Laramie from the University of Evansville. She was a graduate assistant coach for one season and attained a master’s degree in leadership.

Prior to her time at Evansville, Burton was a four-year starter at Wyoming. In her Cowgirl career, she helped lead the team to its first-ever Mountain West Conference regular-season title in 2018. That season saw Wyoming match a program-best 12 victories. As a senior, Burton was named MWC Defensive Player of the Year along with garnering first-team All-MWC honors. She was also named a third-team Scholar All-American by the United Soccer Coaches Association. Burton played nearly 6,500 minutes in her collegiate career and ranks in the top 11 in school history in games played, games started and game-winning goals.

Burton graduated from Wyoming in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and teaching. She originally hails from Centennial, Colorado.
