Former collegiate standout Taylor Bennett joined the Bearcats staff in July 2022 and played a key role in the team's historic 2022 fall campaign.

Bennett and the BU coaching corps earned America East Coaching Staff of the Year accolades after producing a 9-5-5 season that featured an America East regular season title and runnerup tournament finish. The team ended the season with an 8-1-4 clip to reach and host the title match, where it lost in penalties after rallying from a 4-1 second-half deficit. The Bearcats produced five all-conference selections, two all-region honors, two conference All-Rookie selections and three America East major award winners. During the season, the team's 44 goals scored were the most in 21 years (2.3/game) and with a 6-1-1 league mark (best in program history), BU returned to the top of the standings alone for the first time in 18 years.

Bennett returned to the Southern Tier after playing professionally in Iceland for three seasons. She was a four-year starting defender at Syracuse, helping the Orange produce 21 shutouts before graduating in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in health and exercise science with a minor in coaching and physical education.

"Our program is thrilled to add Taylor Bennett to our coaching staff," head coach Neel Bhattacharjee said of her hire. "She had an accomplished career playing in the ACC and also professionally abroad. Our team will be able to gain much from her expertise. Taylor will be a positive role model for our student-athletes. She is fully aware of the values and aspirations of our program and will further boost our profile in our ongoing quest of competing at a championship caliber level."

Bennett is no stranger to Binghamton, as her older sister Leighann was a four-year Bearcat from 2013-16. In addition, Taylor starred scholastically at Dryden High School, about 50 miles north of campus. She amassed 186 goals and 36 assists in six high school seasons, including a school single-season record 48 goals. A four-year first team all-state selection in high school, she was the New York State Class B Player of the Year in 2015.

Bennett led her club team, Syracuse Development Academy, to four state titles and to compete in two national championships in 2013 and 2016. She also competed with the U.S. Women's National U-18 team.

Bennett was a Dean's List and ACC Academic Honor Roll member while at SU and graduated with a 3.3 GPA.

She began her coaching career as an assistant with the Syracuse Development Academy (2017-20) and is also a personal trainer and fitness expert with multiple professional certifications.
