Kevin East has had one constant in his tenure as a collegiate head coach: assistant coach Alex Moreyra.

The Lima, Peru, born assistant served under East during his entire nine-season tenure at New Jersey City, and he was the first assistant to join East at Rutgers-Newark in the fall of 2006.

Moreyra now has helped East bring two programs from cellar dweller status to NCAA Division III at-large tournament berths.  After a 9-10-1 start in 2007, the Raiders have reeled off six straight winning seasons with five ECAC Metro Championship appearances, four New Jersey Athletic Conference berths and an NCAA D-III invitation in 2013.

He lettered twice in soccer while gaining a bachelor of science in communications at the Universidad Regiomonatana de Nuevo Leon in Mexico.

In high school, Moreyra helped Inei “Estados Unidos” win two regional championships and one indoor regional title between 1976 and his senior year of 1980.

Moreyra received his USSF “C” License in March of 2009.

He resides in Toms River.
