Alba Ontiveros was named head athletic trainer in September 2023 after serving two years as an assistant athletic trainer for the Greyhounds.

Ontiveros worked a summer internship at Louisiana State University (LSU), working directly with the Tiger football program in 2021. During this time, Ontiveros provided healthcare coverage for LSU football athletes during summer camp activities.

Prior to LSU, Ontiveros was at the University of San Diego as part of her athletic training clinical education. With the Toreros, Ontiveros worked with football, women’s soccer, cross country, and women’s basketball. Ontiveros developed a recovery program regiment, worked on long-term rehabilitation cases, and assisted on injury treatments and evaluations around COVID-19.

Ontiveros had her first clinical experience at Northern Arizona University. At NAU, Ontiveros was responsible for football, men’s and women’s tennis, and the swimming and diving team. Ontiveros performed player evaluations, coordinated recovery sessions, and kept track of daily documentation.

Ontiveros holds a bachelor's in health and physical education from Eastern New Mexico University and a master's in athletic training from Northern Arizona.

Ontiveros was a four-year member of the Greyhounds Volleyball program while at ENMU. In her senior season, Ontiveros led the Greyhounds in digs per set with 4.63.
