Brent Anderson joined the Karin L. Bone Athletics Study Center staff in January of 2018 and currently serves as the senior athletic academic coordinator, working directly with women’s basketball, softball, women’s soccer, women’s swimming and diving, and men’s tennis.

Anderson also leads the life skills and career development component for all student-athletes, actively helping student-athletes find the right career opportunities. Anderson has worked directly with the university career center with the implementation of the Annual Student-Athlete Career Expo, a private networking opportunity for student-athletes with regional employers. Anderson has also served as the tutor coordinator for student-athletes assisting with day-to-day operations for student workers. 

Prior to Illinois State, Anderson spent his time as a learning specialist assistant at the University of Minnesota for the 2016-2017 school year. In this role, he worked primarily with at-risk student-athletes for the football and men’s basketball teams and was responsible for tracking academic progress and assisting those students with the necessary study skills to be successful.

Anderson received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Dayton and his master’s degree in Counseling/Sport Psychology from Adler University in Chicago.

Brent currently resides in Normal, Illinois, with his wife, Kristen Anderson and two children Nora and Brodie.
