Becca Moros announced the hiring of Brian Periman as an assistant coach for the 2021 season on July 16, 2021. Periman is a Tucson native and coaches the goalkeepers.

Under Periman's guidance, the Wildcats totaled a whopping 63 saves. Hope Hisey completed her senior season with 61 of those saves and totaled six shutouts. She reached 20 career shutouts in 2022 season for the second-most in program history. Hisey was named Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week on three occassions in 2022.

Not only has Periman worked in college soccer, he has been a talent ID scout for the United States youth national teams from ages U14 to U18 with a focus on the central and west region of the country.

Periman most recently coached goalkeepers at North Texas, who went 7-3-1 last season. He coached Kelsey Brann, who allowed just eight goals in 10 matches with a goals against average of 0.77. Brann finished the season with five solo shutouts and was named to the C-USA All-Conference Third Team.

Prior to his time at North Texas, Periman was an assistant coach at New Mexico State, where he worked with the goalkeepers help to improve the goals against average form 2.51 in 2018 to a goal against average of 1.93 in 2019. He also coached at FIU and East Carolina before coaching at New Mexico State.

The Menlo College graduate also served on staff at High Point (2013), Arizona (2010 and 2012) and Florida Atlantic (2011). Before making the switch to college athletics, Periman spent the 2010 season with the Arizona Rush of the Women’s Professional Soccer League. In his lone season in Tucson, he helped guide the Rush to the U23 National Championship. After playing for Menlo, Periman played professionally, spending three seasons with the San Jose Frogs of the United Soccer League (2008-10) and one season with F.C. Tucson (2011). Periman holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Menlo.
