Cameron Carter joined the Baylor soccer program in January of 2022 and will serve as an assistant coach and goalkeepers coach. She comes to Baylor from UTSA where she spent four seasons. 

Working primarily with the goalkeepers during the 2022 season, Carter helped the team to four wins while developing the Bears four goalkeepers. Following the 2022 season, Carter was promoted from volunteer coach to assistant coach and will serve in that role for the 2023 season. 

Carter joined the UTSA coaching staff in 2018 and assisted in all aspects of the program, while focusing on the development of the Roadrunners' goalkeepers. 

She helped lead the team in the 2021 season to a 10-5-4 overall record, while coaching the goalkeepers to 10 shutouts on the season. 

Carter coached an abbreviated 2020-21 spring season after COVID-19 concerns limited UTSA to just 11 games, including a six-game schedule in conference action. She helped mentor a pair of keepers, including Jil Schneider, who had a 1.26 goals-against average in 10 starts. 

In 2019, UTSA posted an 8-8-1 overall record under Carter's leadership, its best winning percentage since the 2011 season. A pair of keepers benefited from Carter's leadership, including Schneider and Sophie Milich. Schneider earned a 1.50 goals-against average in nine starts, while Milich posted a 1.08 goals-against average in seven starts, including four shutouts. UTSA finished with a 1.32 goals-against average with five shutouts. 

In her first year on the staff at UTSA in 2018, Carter helped UTSA to a six-win season with a pair of draws, with three UTSA standouts honored with all-league accolades. Michelle Cole made all 17 starts in goals, with a 1.53 goals-against average, owning six clean sheets and 62 saves. 

Carter spent the 2017 season as a graduate assistant coach on Pittman’s staff at the University of Idaho.

In her season at Idaho, Carter tutored Makayla Presgrave to a 1.48 goal against average, 72 saves and four shutouts in 1,761 minutes between the posts.

Carter joined the Vandals fresh off an incredible career as a goalkeeper with the University of Arkansas.  There, Carter set program records for wins with 45, games played with 81 and minutes played with 7,143.

She recorded 20 shutouts during her time with the Razorbacks, including six during her senior campaign.  Carter also continued to improve throughout her career, posting her best goals against average of her career (1.04) during her senior season.

Her best season came in 2016, when she started every game and posted an 18-5-1 record, the most wins in a single season in program history.  The Razorbacks advanced to the Southeastern Conference Tournament championship game for the first time since 1996.  Arkansas also advanced to the second round of the NCAA Women’s College Cup with a win over Memphis, one of Idaho’s early-season opponents in 2017.

Carter was the primary starter during three of her four seasons with Arkansas, leading the Razorbacks to the NCAA Women’s College Cup in all three.  Carter and the Razorbacks were also very successful in the Cup, winning at least one game all three years and advancing to the Sweet 16 in 2013.

Originally from Waco, Texas, Carter played high school soccer at Midway High School.  She also competed for Waco United SC, Revolution Premier SC and the D’Feeters Soccer Club at the club level.
