Maggie Scales joined the Baylor soccer staff in January of 2022 and will serve as the Director of Soccer Operations. She comes to Baylor from Dallas Baptist, where she played for and coached with head coach Michelle Lenard.

After playing soccer for Dallas Baptist University for the 2016-2019 seasons, Scales served as a Graduate Assistant for the DBU program from 2020-2021. Scales was part of a staff that was named the 2021 National Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches Association of America after piloting the Patriots to a 20-4 record and the NCAA National Semifinals.

During her playing career, Scales played both defender and midfielder for the Patriots. She started all 85 of the Patriots’ games during her four years and logged 7,596 minutes. She was named to various Conference Honor Rolls during her four years at DBU, and she earned D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards in 2017 and 2018.

Scales was recognized as a NCAA First Team All American by United Soccer Coaches as a senior in 2019, a year in which DBU had its first-ever undefeated conference season and finished with a 17-1-3 overall record. Scales was recognized as the Lone Star Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. She also earned D2CCA All American and First Team D2CCA All-South Central Region awards.

As a junior in 2018, Scales was recognized as the Heartland Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Scales also earned NCAA All-South Central Region and D2CCA All-Central Region awards.

In 2017, Scales was named to the NCCAA All-America Team after being named an All-Heartland Conference, NCAA All-South Central Region, and NCCAA All-Central Region selection. She was also awarded the Heartland Conference Tournament MVP after the Patriots posted two shutout wins to claim the conference title. The Patriots finished with a 15-4-2 record and 11 shutouts in their 2017 season.

As a freshman in 2016, Scales was recognized with Third Team All-Heartland Conference honors after playing a key role for a Patriots defensive unit that totaled 12 shutouts.

Scales, originally from McKinney, Texas, graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with University Honors in 2019. She is currently pursuing a dual-master in Business Administration and Communications.
