Dr. Cathy Osmers Rahill joined the UVM Athletic staff in August 2011 and serves as the Associate Director of Athletics for Student Athlete Development and Academic Affairs and Senior Woman Administrator. 

Osmers Rahill has a Doctorate in Education, Leadership and Policy Studies and is a licensed clinical Social Worker.  Osmers Rahill has a keen interest in issues surrounding student-athlete wellness and the intersections of sport and social justice.

Osmer Rahill’s responsibilities include providing sport oversight for field hockey, women’s basketball and women’s lacrosse.  She oversees the Student-Athlete Development team which provides academic support to varsity student-athletes. Osmers Rahill serves as a UVM Deputy Title IX Coordinator and Chairs the UVM President’s Commission for Inclusive Excellence.

Prior to coming to Vermont, Osmers Rahill worked as a counselor for children and families at the Howard Center in Burlington. Osmers Rahill owns a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1992).  She played on the 1990 NCAA Tar Heel National Championship field hockey team. During her high school career Osmers Rahill was a two-time All-American in lacrosse and an All-American in field hockey.

Osmers Rahill earned her master’s degree in social work from the University of Vermont in 2006 and a Doctorate (Ed.D.) in 2020.  Her accolades include;  the UVM Athletic Department Staff Excellence Award, 2014, the UVM Women’s Center Lydia Dodge Award, 2015  and the  UVM Tim Shiner Ally Award for commitment to the UVM community of color, 2018.

A native of Doylestown, Pa, Osmers Rahill resides in Burlington with her husband John, an avid pilot, and sons - Sky and Finn.
