Frank Marino has been the head coach of the women's soccer program since 2009, where since then, the Regals have made the SCIAC postseason tournament every year and have won six SCIAC championships. In 2023, Marino led the Regals to the NCAA Division 3 National Championship and was named the NCAA National Coaching Staff of the Year.

In this historic season, CLU was the 1st unranked team to make it to the national final and was the 1st unranked team to win the National Championship. It was also the 1st national title in the program’s history and the 1st SCIAC team to win the women’s national title. Marino is the all-time winningest coach in Regals Soccer history with a record of 203-63-42.  Marino and his staff were named the 2017 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Coaching Staff of the Year following their first NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance.  In 2019, Marino and the Regals went to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years.

In his 14th season with the Regals, Marino is 25th in NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Coaching Records for winningest active coaches (minimum of five years), with a win percentage of .716 and a record of 203-63-42. Among the winningest NCAA Division III coaches all-time (by percentage; minimum of ten years as head coach) he is ranked 47th. On November 11, 2023, Marino won his 200th game as head coach in the first round of the NCAA tournament against Carleton. 

Most importantly, Frank's philosophy of coaching is to create a meaningful program culture that develops character, builds a teamwork orientation, exudes positive energy, and enhances the student experience.

Marino has been privileged to coach one NCAA Tournament Offensive MVP: Isabella Veljacic (2023), one NCAA Tournament Defensive MVP: Eden Quiroz (2023), two NCAA All-Tournament team players: Brynn McMahon (2023) and Kelsey Slaugh (2023), five All-America selections: Sinead Vaughan (2010, 2011), Taylor Will (2012), Zandra Stewart (2019) and Eden Quiroz (2023), and three Scholar All Americans selections: Zandra Stewart (2019), Isabella Veljacic (2023), and Avery West (2023). For the NCAA All-West Region, he has coached fourteen First Team honorees, fifteen to the Second Team, and nine to the Third Team. He was also honored to coach four SCIAC Player of the Year: Taylor Will (2012), Sinead Vaughan (2010,2011), Kali Youngdahl (2017), and Isabella Veljacic (2022), two SCIAC Defensive Player of the Year: Katie Weaver (2022) and Avery West (2023), and three SCIAC Newcomers of the Year: Taylor Will (2011), Raquel Weckhurst (2015), and Trinity Martinez (2017). 

Marino also serves as the head girls' soccer coach at Westlake High School where he has posted a 267-78-79 overall record since taking over in 2000. He has led the Warriors to 12 Marmonte League titles and six second-place finishes. In 2003, he led the Warriors to their first-ever CIF title and was recognized as the CIF, Daily News, and Marmonte League Coach of the Year. He was again named Coach of the Year for five more years. 

Marino earned a bachelor's degree in social science and a master's degree in education from the University of La Verne.
