Jake Wyman is entering his 5th season as Head Coach of Montevallo Women's Soccer program and his 8th year overall with Falcon Footy.  In Wyman’s first 3 years at the helm, his team has posted an overall record of 27-15-6 with a 21-11-5 mark against Gulf South Conference opponents.  His first three teams have scored 104 goals (2.1 G/Game) while only conceding 48 goals (1.0 GA/Game); including 20 clean-sheets.  A unique characteristic of Wyman’s teams is an assortment of goal scorers.  In the 2021 season, they had 16 different goal scorers, in the abbreviated 2020 season they had 9 different goal scorers in 9 games, and in 2019 they had 15 different goal scorers.  “Sharing the ball isn’t about getting everyone on the score sheet, but more so about unbalancing teams so we can create more chances”.

In his first three years as Head Coach, Wyman has chipped away at some program records including the best start in program history (2020).  His team began the season with three wins & three consecutive shutouts. In 2019 Wyman amassed a 14-4-4 record; the best W/L% and fewest number of losses in the programs 27 year history.  Including 3 wins over nationally ranked opponents.  The 2019 team finished the GSC regular season with a 10-2-1 record, the most GSC wins in program history.  As the 2 seed, the falcons went on to win the GSC Tournament Championship for the first time since 2007.  2019 also marked the programs return to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2008. The 2019 season was a total team effort, with 15 different goal scorers and 18 different players contributing with an assist, both are program bests.  2019 featured 4 All-Conference Selections, Romee Contreras, Melanie Stevens, Michaila Franklin & Hannah Waki with Contreras and Stevens also landing on the All-South Region Team.

Wyman served as the Falcons’ assistant coach from 2016-2018, culminating with the team’s run to the Gulf South Conference Championship as the 7-seed.  The 2018 Championship run featured wins against two nationally ranked teams before falling short to an undefeated, West Florida 20-0, ranked #2 nationally.  As assistant, Wyman led the recruiting efforts and helped the Program advance to the conference tournament in two of the three seasons.

Coach Wyman joined the program after serving as a Director for Clarksville Soccer Club in Middle Tennessee.  Coach Wyman also comes with collegiate coaching experience having served as an Assistant Coach at both Austin Peay State University (2011-2014) and Lander University 2008-2010.

Wyman played four years at Coker College where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science.  He holds another degree from Lander University in Physical Education.

Jake married his wife, Morgan Rudolph Wyman in July 2019 and they welcomed their son, Malone into the world in January of 2022.  He is a native of Bradenton, Florida.
