James Wiegand enters his fourth season as an assistant coach of the Drew University women's soccer team in 2022. In addition to his coaching duties at Drew, he serves as a trainer for MatchFit Academy.

Wiegand entered the college ranks after a highly-successful high school coaching career. He was named the 2018 Morris County Boys Soccer Coach of the Year as the head coach of Parsippany Hills High School after helping the Vikings reach the final of the Morris County Tournament. It was the second time he was named Morris County Coach of the Year, as he also earned the honor as the head boys soccer coach at Dover High School in 2013, when he was also lauded as the All State North Jersey Coach of the Year. Wiegand led Dover to consecutive conference championships in 2012-13.
