Lydia Harvey was promoted to Head Women's Soccer Coach after serving as Interim Head Coach for the fall 2021 season. A former standout on the field for the Quakers, Harvey enters her second season at the helm of the program after a stong finish to 2021.

In the spring of 2022, Harvey joined DiscoverCollegeSoccer for an interview about her program and coaching styles. The interview can be found HERE.

The Quakers battled an adverse 2021, with injuries plaguing the roster. After a difficult start the the conferecne slate, the Quakers picked up wins over Defiance, Manchester, and Bluffton to finish 4-9-1, and 3-5-1 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference competition. Earlham ended the season in seventh-place on the HCAC standings, and narrowly missed the playoffs. Tess Cunningham and Quinn Doden were named HCAC honorable mention after the season.

Harvey had been program's assistant coach during the 2020-21 academic year, and was on the touchline for the program's COVID-impacted Spring 2021 season during which Earlham women's soccer posted a 2-6-1 record. The Quakers knocked off Manchester University and tied Bluffton University during the regular season, and capped the campaign with a 2-0 triumph over Bluffton in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's (HCAC) modified post-season tournament.

"I am confident in Lydia's abilities to lead this program during the upcoming season and continue the outstanding work that has been done to lead Earlham women's soccer over the last 12 months," said Adam Hutchinson, Earlham's director of athletics, at the time of Harvey's hiring.

Harvey was a four-year member of the Earlham women's soccer team from 2015 to 2018, playing in 64 games while making 61 starts as a member of the squad's defensive unit. A team captain during her final three seasons at Earlham, Harvey tallied her lone point during her senior season, when she was credited with an assist in Earlham's win over Grace Christian College. Harvey was the Earlham women's soccer selection to the 2018 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Christopher M. Ragsdale Sportsmanship Team.

Harvey is a 2019 graduate of Earlham College. She majored in psychology at Earlham with a minor in biology. She continued at Earlham to earn her MEd from the college after graduation.
