Marcus Carrington joined the Yale women's soccer staff as an assistant coach in January 2024.

Carrington comes to Yale after serving as an assistant coach at Fairfield University for the last two years. With the Stags, his primary role as an assistant was the recruitment, training, and development of goalkeepers. During the 2022 season, Carrington helped coach the Stags to their first MAAC Regular Season Championship in a decade after finishing with a 9-1 record. Nine victories were the most in a single season since 1998. The Stags' championship season saw then-freshman goalkeeper, Katie Wright, post 14 victories, the second most in a single season in program history. Her 14 wins ranked her 12th in the nation and third among all first-year players. She also ranked fourth in the MAAC with 70 saves. Her successful rookie campaign led her to being named to the All-MAAC Third Team.

In addition to his time at Fairfield, Carrington spent time as the director of goalkeeping at Inter Connecticut Football Club, where he was responsible for overseeing the development of goalkeepers from under-11 to the under-19 age levels.

He earned his undergraduate degree in sports management from the University of Bridgeport in 2022 where he was a member of the men’s soccer program. While at Bridgeport, Carrington was the president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
