Phil Mongelluzzo joins the Post University Women’s Soccer staff in 2023, continuing a coaching soccer career that has spanned for just over two decades.

He was the director of Town Plot soccer early in his career where he guided the transition of a recreational program to the travel level to eventually placing players in a premier league to both FC Ponte and Southbury FC.

Phil has also coached many local high school players at CT Rush from 2019-2022 both at the Premier level and All-Select (formerly Regional Elite) level.

Most recently, Phil has enjoyed immense success at the high school level, coaching Holy Cross High School Girls soccer from 2016- 2022. Prior to Phil taking over the head coaching position, Holy Cross had made four state championship finals in their 46 year history. Phil nearly doubled that total in his time there, guiding Holy Cross to three state championship final appearances, winning two state titles - the first two titles in school history and the first two and only two state championships to date in NVL and Waterbury history.

When not on the pitch, Phil had dedicated his life’s work as a physician to the community he grew up in Waterbury, Conn., establishing an Internal Medicine practice in 2001 where he enjoys seeing patients and coaching them to their best health possible.

Phil resides in Waterbury, Conn. with is wife, Pinky and has three children, Philip III, Andy and Giuseppe.
