Charlie Calamari joined the Hofstra athletic training staff as an assistant athletic trainer in August 2022. She came to the Pride after spending the 2021-22 academic year in the same capacity at Aurora University in Illinois.

During her time at Aurora, Calamari oversaw the athletic training needs for the men's soccer, women's ice hockey, and softball programs. Prior to Aurora, Calamari served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Elmira (NY) College, where she earned a master’s degree in general education in 2021 while working with the men’s soccer, women’s ice hockey, cheerleading, and softball teams.

A collegiate ice hockey student-athlete at the SUNY-Cortland, Calamari was a team co-captain, served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and was the 2018 recipient of the Red Letter Award for athletic skill, leadership, community service, and academic excellence. During her undergraduate studies, she took part in a clinical practicum and worked with various athletic teams at Cortland while also assisting with the Cornell University baseball team. A dean’s list student, Calamari was also an ECAC West All-Academic Team selection in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Calamari graduated from Cortland in 2019 with a degree in athletic training.
