Ruairi McGuinness joined the Hofstra Women's Soccer staff in April 2018 and will be entering his sixth season in 2023.

McGuinness has helped guide Hofstra to Colonial Athletic Association crowns in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022. He has mentored a total of 14 All-Colonial Athletic Association selections, including eight major award winners. 

In addition to his role at Hofstra, McGuinness has served as the director of coaching at the East Meadow Soccer Club since July 2013 and as a staff instructor in the coaching education department of the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) since July 2012. 

Within ENYYSA, he also worked as the girls' Olympic Development Program head coach for three years. Additionally, he spent three seasons as the assistant women's soccer coach at LIU post after spending 13 years as the director of player development at NOGA Soccer in Garden City. 

Currently a resident of West Babylon, New York, he graduated from the University of Bedfordshire in England with a bachelor's degree in sport and fitness studies in 2000.
